Let go of anger; It's an acid that eats away the delicate layers of your happiness

The reverse side has also its reverse side

This was a grand old house on the main drag of my town that had fallen into a state of incredible disrepair. Some developers purchased it and wanted to restore it to it's former grandeur, using the upstairs as affordable housing and the downstairs as upscale office space. However, when the engineers came in to assess the cost of the upgrade, it was discovered the foundation was crumbling, much of the wood was rotted, and the wiring would all have to be replaced. In effect, the house was beyond repair, so the owners contacted the fire department to come in, burn it down, and have a practice session with the entire volunteer fire department work a fire on an old wooden building. Slippery Slide State Park near Sedona, AZ. There is a series of shallow, flat falls down which bathers can slide. In the foreground is a deep pool into which people can dive. It's a really fun place. Beautiful, too. September, 2005.

When two cars pass on this rural bridge there's only about 2 inches between them; and don't even think about a truck and car trying to cross simultaneously. But most Irish country roads are like that. County Cork, August 1997.

More art down a Portland alleyway. Can you tell I'm running outta photos? I haven't been anywhere recently, been busy with work, and have been ill, so not much in the way of getting out with the camera. Sorry. Portland, OR, February, 2004.

I live on the high desert. Even deserts get some participation, but not regularly and not as much as other places. When people think of Oregon, they think of rain. And in Oregon's main valley, the Willamette, it does rain. A lot. But the reason it rains there and not where I live is exemplified by this photo, best viewed full sized by clicking on the pic. The Cascade mountain range stops most storm systems from moving into the high desert. The area on the other side of Mt. Jefferson, in the center of the photo, had high rainfall yesterday. We didn't have any. The mountains stop the storms. Madras, OR, January 15, 2006.

It's VERY rainy right now in my corner of the planet, with the region getting hammered by storm after storm, people slogging through soggy conditions. I'm posting this one to remind myself spring is just around the corner. This is one of those that looks better at full size (just clilck on the photo). Victoria, BC, March 2005.

Happy New Year

For each of you:

May you be free from inner and outer harm
May you happy and peaceful of mind
May you be healthy and strong of body
May you be able to care for yourself joyfully
May you know success and fullfillment

All beings are heirs to their own actions
Everything is just as it is.
