This photo is the last of our focus this week on barns. The two mountains behind this barn are known as the Middle and North Sisters and are in the central Cascade Mountains range of Oregon. When one clicks on the photo to see the full sized version, they can see the juxtapostion of all the junk amid the beauty of the pasture, trees and mountains. Taken between Redmond and Sisters, Oregon, in rural Deschutes County. October 21, 2006.

I took a trip this weekend. I usually take a camera everywhere I go and this time I decided to focus on barns. Barns are cool and they evoke good emotions within me. I hope they do you, too. So this week, we're going to feature barns. This one was taken outside of Redmond, Or. That's Mount Jefferson in the background. October 21, 2006.

Lotus blossoms in bloom at the Classical Chinese Garden in Portland, OR. Doesn't that leaf just to the left look like a slipper sinking below the surface? August, 2006.

Just a reminder that Winter is making its annual trek to the Northern Hemisphere and will be arriving soon. That's Mount Jefferson in the background. December, 2005. Madras, OR.

Believe it or not, this very small houseboat is also a restaurant. I think there are 3 or 4 small tables for 2 inside, with the kitchen in the back and the owner sleeping in the space upstairs. Quadra Island, BC, March, 2006.

Dennis Dixon to Jonathan Stewart in the Oregon-Cal game earlier this month. I can't remember if Stewart caught the ball or not, (you can see the ball near the orange pylon second from right if you click on the photo to see the full sized version) but Cal handed the Ducks their heads. Dammit! Berkeley, CA. October 7, 2006.

While in San Francisco week before last, i somehow took an inordinate amount of photos of Forbes Island at Fisherman's Wharf. I am going to spend this week focusing on just that single subject in my postings. If you get bored, please come back next week. This is Forbes Island at dusk, with pelicans gliding past. September, 2006.

Boats line the quay at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. More detail can be seen by clicking on the photo, but there's no truth the rumor that the "V" or the "M" formed by the lines from the masts on both sides of the quay are secret messages regarding conspiratorial secret societies on the nature of the origin of the Holy Grail, the Silver Chalise, or the Academy Awards. September, 2006.
