It's Abandoned Homestead Week here at the Grind. And we begin with this entry from rural Grant County, Oregon. They're usually not this colorful. Given the metal roof and the new coat of paint that has been begun on this one, perhaps someone is trying to restore it. June, 2007.

love the abandoned homestead photos. are any of these places for sale? i'm a wet-sider since 1966 and soon ready for the desert. off-grid eccentric rainbow artist type, dig? we live way out in the coast range on a gravel road currently. i dig the whole remote thing from way back, my mom was with the National Park service.
we went through N. Central Oregon on a low-rent car-trip a few years back, and i decided i wanted to live there. if i can see the southeast sky for satellite net and get sun for my solar panels that's all i need...... we know how to be xeric as well. :)
