When one looks at Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris at night, it's really not hard to see how Hugo wrote his book about the hunchback. Here, the gargoyles (rain spouts) stand out in the bright night lights. One can almost hear Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor just looking at this photo. Paris France; September, 2009.
