On Wednesday, Aug. 10, I posted a photo of a bunch of sunflowers. It was taken at this flower display in downtown Portland. You can see the bunch I photographed just to the right of the two people standing in the center left. Notice the faux window at the top of the stairs. I am taking this photo standing in another faux window below. If you click on the photo to see the full size version you can see the display on the stairway can remind one of a mountain water cascade. June, 2005.

After taking the photo I posted yesterday, I turned to my right and saw this window on the building across the street. So I zoomed in to the max to see what I could snag. If you click on the photo to see the actual sized pic, you can see what I snagged was a bottle of wine on the counter. June, 2005

Photo of the Day: Not all photos turn out as one envisions. I was trying to get the feeling of passing through a corridor of colors to see the window at the far end in this photo. But because my digital camera is not an SLR, just using the video screen, and because it was so bright out, I couldn't tell that the camera was actually focusing on the bamboo, rather than the far wall. Oh well. Portland, OR, June 2005.

Photo of the Day: This is a really cool acrylic painting on canvas by Lee Robinsong entitle 'Hollyhock Garden at the Milennium.' It's about three and a half feet across and is an excellent depiction of the garden at Hollyhock Farm on Cortes Island in British Columbia. You really need to click on the photo so you can see the full size to get the best effect of this interesting piece. April, 2005.
