Without a doubt, Red Rocks is the best concert venue in the US, maybe even the planet. We never tire of seeing one of our favorites there, even though it's a two and a half hour flight. There are literally hundreds of photos of the view through Mesa Arch, almost always with the sun arising just over those mountains in the distance., creating a neon glow on the inside of the arch. However, when we were there, there was no sun. In fact, when we first arrived, the fog was so thick you couldn't even see to the other side of the arch. Canyonlands National Park, Utah; May, 2015.

It was cold that day but as cold as it had been the previous 10 days, so it was time to get out and do some driving, some walking, some photo taking. While most people tend to pay much more attention to the national attraction just 150 yards and across the road from this spot, we took the time to look around and enjoy this view, too. it's no secret to regular Grinders that we like to see the California Honeydrops when they are in the region doing shows. We caught them at this place almost a year ago.
