Let go of anger; It's an acid that eats away the delicate layers of your happiness

This lotus blossom grew in the Classical Chinese Garden in Portland, Oregon. I had never seem a variety this large. It was at the end of stem that was 3-4 feet long and the flower itself was huge--at least as large as one's hand fully extended, the tip of the thumb to the tip of the little finger. But they were pretty. Portland, OR. August, 2006.

(NOTE: Here it is, the next day after posting this, and I see that I had already posted this a couple months ago. Sorry. I must be losing my memory. Or running out of photos)

This is almost the same photo as the one posted on Nov. 30, 2006, yet they look very different. If you scroll down the column on the right you can access that photo in the archives. The only real difference are the clouds in the other photo. I took it at the same exact location, same camera. December 17, 2006

It's not even the first day of Winter yet and already I'm jonesin' for Spring. So I thought I'd inject a little floral color onto the page. Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC, Canada, July 2006.

Okay last picture of my damage. But you can see the jumble of limbs and branches and roof damage (especially if you click on the photo to see the fullseized version) that took out the power. December 15, 2006. Madras, OR

Last Thursday night, the west coast of the US and Canada was wracked with a huge wind storm. Here in Oregon, it took out power to over 200,000 homes. My house is surrounded by Chinese elm trees and a couple of them lost some very large branches, crashing down into my house, cutting power. Here it is Monday and I hope to have power restored today. Luckily, it just took the power lines and did damage to my porch roof instead of my house roof. I'm posting this from a WiFi cafe. This photo was taken Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2006, Madras, OR.

Well, it's not very colorful, but I find it interesting. We've had freezing fog here lately and if you click on the pic to see the fullsized version, you can see that it clings to the grass, the trees, practically everything. Near Madras, OR, Dec. 8, 2006.

I just happened to look out the window and saw what I considered to be a pretty sunset. I like how the colors are bright and vibrant behind the tree across the street, showing the symmetry and patterns of the branches. It looks better at full size, which you can see by clicking on the picture. Dec. 5, 2006. Madras, OR.

Nothing special here. It's just that for the past week or so it's been really, really, really cold and we've gotten some snow here. I wanted to post something that reminded of warmth. This was taken this past summer when the temperature was high and the soft breezes were blowing. The folks on the boat here were even wearing bathing suits. Gorge Harbor, Cortes Island, BC. July, 2006.
