A honeybee dances through pollen, rather oblivious to the camera lens mere inches away from its face. If you click on the thumbnail, you can see pollen all over the bee's body, legs, eyes, everywhere. Woodburn, Oregon; August, 2008.

A clandestine shot of the touring Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. The ushers were looking for me after I took this one, but I escaped their dragnet to take several more (Mmmmwwuuhahahahahah!). More detail by clicking on the thumbnail. Keller Auditorium, Portland, Oregon; August, 2008.

There are very few photos that I take that I absolutely love, but this is one of them. If you click on the thumbnail, you can see how the sky is reflected around some of the flowers. I don't recall if I saw this as I took it, but it's a real effect and not something that was photoshopped in. It's kind of surreal in that way. Enjoy. Oregon Country Fair, near Veneta, Oregon; July, 2008.

A yellowjacket on a corn stalk leaf taken with my new handy dandy little point and shoot camera (which means I had to get r e a l l y close to this little bugger). Greater detail my clicking on the thumbnail. Redmond, Oregon; August, 2008.

I'm on the board of directors for an aquatic district that just finished building a new swimming center. It's on a bluff with a great view, so we made sure we had lots of windows on the south side. If you click on the thumbnail, you can see the sunset through the windows. BTW, this is the same sunset as in yesterday's pic, just several minutes earlier. Madras, Oregon; August, 2008.

They may be tiny; their wings may beat so fast you can't hardly see them; but they've got HUGE eyeballs! Clackamas, Oregon; August, 2008.

So there I was driving to work yesterday, when I came across a crop duster buzzing the highway as he was going about his work. So I pulled out my brand new, handy dandy little point and shoot digital from my pocket and caught this photo of him as he crossed the highway one last time before I moved on down the road. I am surprised this came out as clear as it did considering I was going about 80 mph and he was going faster than that. If you click on the thumbnail, you can even see the pilot in the cockpit. Near Madras, Oregon; August, 2008.

You really are gonna hafta click on the thumbnail to get anything outta this one. I took it at night, obviously. The light from the TV outlines the fireplace, somewhat. Too bad I wasn't watching a scary movie (I think it was an action adventure). But I kinda like it, anyway. I took it with a new point and shoot digital I received over the weekend so I don't hafta carry around my big SLR as much. Clackamas, Oregon; August, 2008.

A hawk alights onto a hay bale to patiently wait for dinner. Near Madras, Oregon; August, 2008.

I live on a dead-end street. At the end is an open field owned by the city, which has in recent years allowed a community garden. As I came home from work one night last week, I found that these two fawns had discovered that garden. Madras, Oregon, July, 2008.
