The sun finds a lone, leafless Japanese maple tree in the middle of winter. I manipulated this one just a tad. (click on the thumbnail for more of a watercolor effect) Japanese Gardens, Portland, Oregon; February, 2007.
Statuary above the door of the Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris depicting Christ on Judgement Day weighing the souls. (Click on the thumbnail to see each representation has a different face and posture. These were not mass-produced, but individually created. Probably a main reason why it took over 170 years to complete the building). Paris, France; September, 2009.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross. People come from all over the world to see this place, and if you're a fan of the Weather Warden book series by Rachel Cain (no pun intended), this building is a place of power in the books. Sedona, Arizona; September, 2005.
Along the McKenzie River. Obviously, I've manipulated this photo a little bit. Looks sorta like a watercolor, doesn't it? Rural Lane County, Oregon; November, 2003.
A cool old Victorian house near the corner of Haight and Ashbury streets. (click on the thumbnail to check out how they even got the colors of the rainspout right). San Francisco, California; January, 2008.
The Morrison Street Bridge across the Willamette River at night. (click on the thumbnail to better see the bridge or the rift in the sky). Portland, Oregon, August, 2009.
A fountain seen through a wrought iron portal. (Click on the thumbnail to see the water falling or the detail on the tile). Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Sedona, Arizona, September, 2005.
Another in my series of Lines, Light, Textures, and Colors. A doorway and steps on a downtown church. Obviously, this door is an outie. Portland, Oregon; April, 2009.
