Longtime Grinders know we rarely miss an opportunity to hang out with our friends The California Honeydrops. This past weekend they were in the region and did a half-hour promo at one of the city's oldest and foremost records stores for the National Record Day celebrations. After they finished here, they packed up their gear and hightailed it over to the Keller Auditorium to open of Bonnie Raitt, where they burn the house down in preparation for Bonnie's set. Nine months out of the year this place is bustling with one of the largest and most vibrant Saturday Markets on the West Coast. Likely one of the oldest, too. But we came by in one of the off months this time. We'll get back to the Saturday Market soon. (Click the photo for a better view) Ankeny Square, Portland, Oregon; March, 2016,

We here at the Grind had such an interesting time walking around Virginia City a few weekends ago, that we decided to make this Virginia City Week here at the Grind. The building to the left is the first Roman Catholic Church Museum in the state, while the steeple toward the back is the Episcopal Church.
